3The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
By Chew
After seeing videos of this game on Youtube I decided to buy it. After playing it for 2 days, I can offer the following information which may or may not influence your purchasing decision.Let's start with the Bad & The Ugly1) It's a console port. No attempt at all to hide this fact from the UI to autosaves to graphics (which aren't bad but aren't the pinnacle of PC gaming either). If you are looking for a showcase for your shiny new state of the art computer ... look somewhere else.2) As said before it uses autosaves and checkpoint saves. So if you have to go somewhere you can exit and lose progress or go to a menu screen and basically leave your computer running until you come back.3) It's an action game - calling it an RPG is a stretch. You run around killing monsters, then you talk to an NPC then you run around killing monsters, then you talk to an NPC, ad infinitum.4) Gimped UI - you can't switch characters on the fly and you can't equip new gear on your other 2 NPC buddies right away (you can give gear to them but that's it). You have to either wait until the next chapter - when the game allows for a character swap or you have to exit the game and restart (I think) to buy and equip new gear to them - since I bought it as a download it didn't come with a manual or anything so ... take this with a grain of salt. The Good1) It's fun. I've only played single player but just running around killing things is mindless fun in its own way. If you are looking for a time-sink and not some cerebral exercise this might be the game for you.Bottom Line: Quirky fun time sink, especially worthwhile to fans of Tolkien but may be too quirky and annoying for those that aren't. If you are a member of the latter, wait until it goes on sale to pick it up.

5A lot of fun as long as you co-op
By Brent A. Feinberg
I actually bought 2 copies of the XBOX 360 version originally for this game and after looking at the graphics, returned both and got 2 copies of the PC version. The graphics on the PC version are much better (and I was actually surprised by the amount of graphical options the game has). The game also fully supports multi-core processors. As far as gameplay goes, this game is a lot of fun, but you have to be careful to keep your friends at the same point of the game as the host, or else it will disable their save game and achievements. You will also likely get crashes in this case. If you are off a bit, just make sure to have the person that is furthest behind host the game, and you will be fine. One unique aspect of this game is that each character has a special ability that allows them to open up hidden areas for the entire team i.e. the dwarf can see cracks in walls and break them down. If you aren't playing co-op, you will only have access to the areas that your character can access as the computer controlled characters will not do this for you.

4An excellent game
By Pierce G
I found this game to be excellent in almost every way. Although calling it an RPG might be a bit of a stretch (its more of an action game) it is very fun to play. Thousands of pieces of armor and new gear to equip, and you can really see the difference the more powerful weapons make. Although there is a sad lack of variety in the villains you face, and the camera view is mildly annoying, (which is why I rated it four stars) this game was worth it's full $50 price. When you beat the game, you can play it again, keeping your gear from the previous playthrough. Although some people say that because their are only three playable characters that it can get old, but I find that upgrading them enough that you are comfortable with playing with them on online multiplayer (which by the way rocks, you get brand new armor and weapons just by working together) requires some time and effort. The amount of great gear you get after beating a boss or semi-boss it amazing, and I find myself getting excited (and a bit nervous)when a character yells "troll!" but I relish the challenge. So far, I have not run into any technical difficulties at all, and I would like to commend Snowblind on their amazing game. If you are a die-hard Lord of the Rings fan, you don't want to miss this!
