4A Nice Diabloesque Version of Tomb Raider
By draider9
Overall, this game adds a completely new and positive perspective to the Tomb Raider franchise. If you haven't necessarily liked the Tomb Raider series, at least give this game a shot. On the flip side if you love Tomb Raider, its a must have. The graphics and depth are visual eye candy with a mix of a comic book look for the prologue. This game has a pretty good story line (not amazing but not bad) and plays from a perspective exactly like Diablo. The game areas are rich with extras (if you can find them all) and the puzzles are quite solvable; note that when I refer to puzzles I am saying that solving the puzzles in this game is not like trying to figure out a crossword or Sudoku puzzle. They immerse you in the game and have a purpose. You don't have to do the really hard ones if you don't want to either. If you don't though you will miss out on bonuses; ammo upgrades, etc. There are also monsters that spawn just about everywhere (even the puzzle rooms), which only adds to the fantastic environments and game play. You have a variety of weapons and specials to equip throughout the game too. There are only a few things about the overall experience that I didn't necessarily enjoy.First being the controls, if you don't prefer using the keyboard and mouse (or are not particularly savvy with them) use a controller. I learned that controlling Lara with the keyboard and mouse takes some getting use to.Second, the voice acting for some of the characters seems kind of cheesy at times and turns the game away from being a serious mythological and adventurous isometric dungeon crawler to a bit of a child like atmosphere and can distract from the enjoyment of the game.Third, its almost like you don't have to work to really ration ammunition (except your pistols which have infinite ammo...yeah I know right). I mean you do have ammo for SOME weapons but I feel that it is way too easy to replenish them.Despite some real minor annoyances, this game is great I really enjoyed it and I recommend that people give it a shot.

4Activates Through Steam
By mig029
This is the first game I purchased through Amazon. Amazon gives you an activation key with the purchase. With an activation key this game is easy to Activate through Steam, which means Steam Achievements. The Game is fun and runs great on a i5 2500k, 560ti system.

5Refreshing twist to a popular franchise
By A. Lee
This "Lara Croft" game is a top-down shooter, and first of its kind in the Tomb Raider franchise. XBox360, PS3, and even iPad/iPod touch has this game. For those familiar with the genre, it is closer to GunBros, DeadNation (PS3), Zombie Apocalypse (PS3), than Diablo, zombie shooter, alien shooter. You can choose to play using the keyboard and mouse, but I highly recommend using a joypad instead. In fact, if you have a joypad with great analog sensitivity, this game's an absolute blast at sub $10 purchase. I'm using my PS3 Dualshock via MotionJoy [hint hint], and the XBox 360 controller perfectly integrates with this game, giving it a console feeling. The co-op is highly recommended, either local or online. Co-op gameplay [mildly] changes the difficulty, but substantially changes the puzzle solutions, means of escaping traps, and of course more enemies, which makes things refreshing between single campaign and co-op campaign. True co-operation is required to get things done.I'm in Oklahoma, and I play with my friend in Florida, and gameplay is smooth, depending on your connection. In case of a rare disconnection in the midst of gameplay, fear not. The game has checkpoints which you won't have to fret about completing that previous crazy puzzle/trap/encounter again. Steam would be the medium for online gameplay. Aside from online gameplay, I highly recommend activating the game on Steam to gain access to other DLC content, which will cost a few more bones. Honestly, at discounts Amazon is handing out, what's a few more bones, eh?The gameplay is smooth and well paced, with a mix of typical Tomb Raider puzzles and action. In fact, with a decent graphics card (I'm using GTS250, and my friend's a RD4650), it's a very fluid game. The game is very well made, aside from cheesy voice acting. Then again, Lara Croft has generally been cocky. The music is typical for the Tomb Raider franchise. It is a brief game, but you can easily log 16 hours on your first playthrough. Then again, there's the added replay value between single and co-op campaign.I am a Tomb Raider fan, and I proudly played all games on PC and completed them, even from the 90's pixelated era. This game's a very welcomed and refreshing twist to the franchise.

2Nearly worthless
By V. Kosmina
X-COM Enemy Unknown Elite Soldier Pack is basically worthless:1. The (official as opposed to Amazon's) description of what you get (quoted below) is deliberately misleading to fool you into thinking that you are getting more than you are really getting, which I find at least unethical. Amazon's description is a bit more 'honest' though not entirely. Here's what the official description says (my comments in brackets, and you can find the official description on the publisher's site as well as on Steam):"Customize your squad with three new bonus items [OK, this part is kind of true].Instantly unlock a new recruit in your barracks inspired by the original X-COM: UFO Defense [MISLEADING - you are not getting any new recruits, what you are getting is a single additional haircut inspired by the original X-COM].Outfit your soldiers with specialized armor upgrades including the new Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits [MISLEADING - you are not getting any armor upgrades, there are no new research-able armor upgrades, there are only two additional armor SKINS - see #2 below for details].Customize your soldiers' appearances with a variety of colors and tints for all armor sets [This is the only thing that is true here].2. Modifiable armor skins they call 'upgrades' are for low-end armors only (your basic body armor, Carapace and Skeleton armors can be made to look less flimsy). The mid- to high-end armors are not modifiable (except for the color). You also get one "retro" hairdo a la X-COM UFO Defense and three helmet skins (these are just skins with no intrinsic properties), but I find the ability to hide the soldiers' faces inside those helmets useless as using helmets makes all soldiers look the same and they lose their unique faces, hair styles and skin colors. So if you buy this pack all you really get is the ability to apply something like 30 color tints to the existing armors. AND, to be thorough, most of the color tints are hideous neon-glow like. Do you want your assault troopers to look like Barby dolls or beer promo neon signs? The only colors that are actually usable and make your soldier armors look bad-ass are solid ones such as black, red, khaki, white, orange. So you are not even getting the 30 color tints they offer as you will never use 25 of them.I suppose it could be useful and cool to make all your assault troopers orange, heavies green, support (medics) white and snipers red (that's how I have them colored anyway, you may want other tints) but I am not sure the ability to color-code your soldier classes is worth the price tag, unless you simply want to support the developer... BUT considering how they misinform you in the product description to swindle the five bucks out of you, I don't think you should support them.

The description of the DLC makes it seem you are opening some new armor upgrades and a special recruit. You are not, this dlc is for customizing the armor you already have. That's about it.

Not worth 5 bucks. I searched about 30 minutes this "New recrut", before find out that 1 haircut. Waste of money. Awesome game, different story for first dlc.

3Decent Game, but not a hugh wow
By Amy G Klein
Omerta's concept was a great idea. Atlantic City during prohibition & you're the "boss". Unfortunately, the strategy portion of the game lacks the excitement I was hoping for. You don't get to really build your own speakeasies, or breweries. It's more of a click to talk to an informant. Wait 60 seconds and informant tells you which building you can use. Click on building, buy building, click on choice box to designate what you want in the building...it's definitely not a gangster "Sim City" (although it does have the similarity of having to deal with opening a "Steam" account - whatever happened to just buying a game, loading it & playing it - no 3rd party internet stuff). It's not horrible, but it's also not a game that you can't put down.

1Boring Boring Boring
By C. Joseph Nower
A waste of moneyThen play of this game is so limited and repetitive as to be absurd. Don't buy it; unless you like doing the same thing over and over again in a game. You'll get one hour of enjoyment max from this.

1DO NOT BUY!
By Andrew Romano
Just a shell of a game.If you played the demo, you played the game. The single player game is just a wash, rinse repeat of the demo. It gets very old and boring, very fast. The multiplayer is just the battle sequences. You can't play a full map like I had hoped. Sandbox mode is also a complete let down. You can only choose from 4 of the maps you already played in single player mode. No rival gang just the exact same gameplay as you had in single player just minus the storyline. All the maps are so small, they're all about the same size as the one in the demo.I felt absolutely ripped off after buying it and I write this review a month after buying because I got so mad when I saw they were releasing some DLC for $5 more. Wish I would have wrote it sooner maybe could have saved a few more people the pain of buying this. The games worth $10 at most and that should include the DLC.

1Game Shark Dropped The Ball
By Sir Guyon
Ok, Game Shark really dropped the ball on this one. They didn't provide enough information on the product to tell me that the game shark was only a saving device. ( I am still scratching my head on this one) The only good thing this is for is saving your memory cards on your computer, and downloading other peoples games. THERE ARE NOT CHEAT CODES ON THIS DIVICE. Who buys a game shark just to save. Don't buy this product, you will only waste your money, your time, and be very disappointed.

this is a far more economical alternative to the AR for the original xbox. however this device won't work on M$ win 7, you need an older XP machine or the XP environment running on your PC to use it. it won't, i repeat, it won't work out of the box. you need to install the software that comes from the disc. to those whom are interested in the other uses of this device, you need to find a GSX version of KNave installer. godspeed

1SHAMEFUL: a new low for gaming
By Nathan Beauchamp
Gaming has hit an all time low thanks to UBI Soft. If you didn't like draconian DRM schemes, you're going to hate UBI Soft's new policy: you must be connected to their servers 100% of the time to play Assasin's Creed 2. If you don't have internet, or if your internet is out, or if you are on vacation, stationed in Iraq, or want to play at the airport, you are out of luck. No game for you. That in itself is very troubling and reason enough to NOT BUY THIS GAME. However, there are additional reasons that are even more frightening:1) Setting the precedent for future gamesIf gamers buy Assasin's Creed despite this huge limitation on game play, it will open the door to many more games like this in the future. That would be awful for the consumer.2) Turning 'owning' into leasing"Tying games to some sort of server for activation is bad enough, but making them DEPENDENT on a server is horrible for the consumer. It takes away our rights (to play the game we paid for on our terms) and creates a system whereby you are simply LEASING a game. If at some point UBI Soft decides to take down their servers, you lose your game. They can take away your rights to play the game at any point in the future if they decided to. They have you by the cajones! If you give into this model, expect to never own any digital medium again; the makers of games, producers of music, and distributors of movies would love to see our current model of OWNING a physical copy of your game \ album \ movie replaced with a system where you only own the 'right' to access \ play that medium. It's their wet-dream to turn the current system of ownership on its head so they can re-sell you things endlessly as well as take them away from you at their discretion. As a consumer, it's important that we speak out against this by supporting DRM free games (Mass Effect II, Dragon Age, Fallout III, etc...) and DRM free music (buy it from Amazon!) and REFUSE to buy this junk with built in limitations and restrictions that SERVE NO PURPOSE.3) Making games dependent on 'phoning home' means you're at the total mercy of UBI Soft (or whomever runs their servers)If their servers are down, you lose access to your game. If their servers are overtaxed, you may experience problems connecting to your game. Think that isn't likely? Think again. Currently (03/09/2010) the servers have been down for the last 12 hours or so, creating chaos for all those who expected to be able to fire up Assassin's Creed. It doesn't even matter if UBI Soft is malevolent or not; if your service provider has a bad week you may be out of luck. If there is a storm in your area, you could end up out of luck for weeks (this happened to me when a tree knocked out my cable internet for 9 says straight--I thought I was going to die). You're screwed if your internet, their servers, or anything along the line between the two goes down.4) DRM is pointless (and this online restriction is one of it's worst forms!)Want to pirate games? It's tragically easy these days. Even more tragic is that DRM, supposedly designed to prevent piracy, is a total failure at actually accomplishing that. Want proof? Google "Spore + DRM + Piracy" and see what you come up with. I'll give you a hint: Spore was pirated BEFORE it was officially released. Many games are unto torrent sites well before their release date. The worst part of this is that the pirated versions are in almost all cases SUPERIOR to the DRM infested versions: they don't contain the invasive, crippling, and destructive DRM that past games have been ruined by (Bioshock, Mass Effect I, Spore, etc...). I am NOT ADVOCATING PIRACY. I think you should buy the games you want to play. I am advocating NOT BUYING games that violate your basic consumer rights (right to resell your game, right to play your game WHENEVER you want to without restrictions). If a game limits those rights, I say skip it entirely. Because UBI SOFT are morons doesn't give anyone the right to steal. As your Mom (or at least mine) used to say: two wrongs don't make a right!I am not opposed to simple DRM schemes (disk check, or even Steam which has established very good rapport gamers by being both consistent, fair, and show a long track record of stability). I am totally opposed to anything that PREVENTS ME FROM PLAYING THE GAME that I paid money for. I don't want to see this standardized (and I don't think it will be) and so it's time to take action NOW and refuse to buy this garbage. The bottom line is DRM is not and has never been about preventing piracy. It's about CONTROL. Control over you and how you are able to play the very game you paid your money for. It's about wrenching ownership away from the consumer and replacing it with something much lesser: rental \ leasing. Don't let them do that to you.Final Thoughts:UBI SOFT and those like them have got to be taught a lesson. The only way to get heard by these huge companies is by hitting them where it hurts: their pocketbook. Refuse to buy this game or games like it that infringe on your rights. Tell your friends not to buy it. Write reviews that inform people about the risks of doing so. That's how you get things to change. To the inevitable trolls who will tell me that DRM should just be 'given in to,' I'd like to point out that currently game makers are MOVING AWAY from DRM schemes. The reason is because of the backlash against pointless restrictions by those like myself who are unwilling to sit around and watch PC gaming be ruined by greedy scumbags. It's because of grassroots action (Spore for example) that the tide has turned and that DRM is now much less common than it was a year ago. Top shelf games are being released DRM free. You know what? I've bought all of them and recommend you do the same. Let's all give our money to the makers of games that RESPECT us--after all, WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS. Enough said.

1No Internet? No game!
By Silverwing
Though it doesn't say anywhere in the description, you *NEED* an internet connection to play the game. Yes, you need to be connected to an Ubisoft server *at all times* in order to be able to play. No playing out in the backyard, or on the beach, or while waiting for your bus... Without internet, no game! And so far the Ubisoft servers have done nothing but crash, be unavailable, break off your game-play, lose your saves and so on. Officially, it's all because of attacks on the servers... yeah, right. And irate customers who are trying to vent their frustration on the Ubisoft forums are having their posts deleted.I'm paying for an *offline* game, not for an online one (I have enough of those). I sent mine back.

1Overzealous DRM
By B. Rogers
This game is abusive to consumer rights. You need a continuous connection to Ubisoft's servers while playing. If the connection breaks, the game stops. And Ubisoft is already having trouble keeping their server online. The pirates cracked this game within 24 hours, so the DRM isn't effective at stopping the pirates. And it's also not effective at allowing paying customers to play, so the DRM fails in every respect. It just ruins the game. If you value your rights as a consumer, don't buy this game.

By Mike Poe
I've been wondering (as many others have) if you get two separate keys with "BF3 Premium Edition" (so I could upgrade my Limited Edition account to Premium), and stopped by Best Buy today... I asked a few guys in the gaming section if they knew if the "Premium Edition" (i.e. Game + Premium, not the "premium service" which still costs twice the price) came with two separate codes, and none of them knew, but the third guy I asked decided to buy the game himself to find out. He said he had planned on buying it anyway, so why not now, so he could answer my question. He bought it, opened it, showed me it had two codes (one for game + "headstart kit" and another for Premium), so I bought my self a copy. I got home, went into Origin to "redeem code" put the premium code in, and even though in Origin, it still says "Battlefield 3 Limited Edition," it downloaded Close Quarters and Amored Kill (I already had Back to Karkand from the Limited Edition), and I can play it now. :-) This is contrary to what EA Support (help.ea.com, live chat) told me, but yes, the boxed version of "Premium Edition" did come with two separate codes and worked to upgrade my Limited Edition to include the premium content, plus I still have the regular game code, I can use for a second computer when friends are over or to give to a friend, all for only $25. :-) I can't say for sure if that's also true for the downloaded version, but at least I know the boxed version is like that. :-)

5BF3 Limited Edition plus Premium - 2 keys
By William
PC Version Download contains 2 Keys.- Keys can be Copy & Pasted into Origin- Battlefield 3 LE Key: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX- Premium Service Key: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXThe 1st key contains Battlefield 3 Limited Edition, and Back to Karkand map pack. The 2nd key contains Battlefield 3 Premium Upgrade, and all Expansion packs, and all extras.I already owned Battlefield 3 Limited Edition when I purchased thisI used the "Premium Service Key" to upgrade my BF3 to Premium, it worked perfectlyjust opened origin, clicked on Origin Menu, Chose Redeem Product code, pasted my code, and Viola, I have everything.I pasted the "Battlefield 3 LE key" into my Son's Origin, and he now has BF3 limited edition, and the Back to Karkand Expansion. All this costed me the same price as the upgrade alone.I hope this helps.

4awesome deal and game..download process and installation are a pain
By Jose082
very good game, the multiplayer is very fun compared to other shooters...lots of teamwork is involved. a complaint i have is the whole process for downloading it. you must use a program called origin and then go through a lengthy process to actually get it going. the game uses ur browser to run the game. its a great deal judgeing that this is well under what it would cost to get the game and premium membership. the singleplayer story sort of lacks and doesnt live up to its full potential. (which is why it didnt get 5 stars) but this is more a muliplayer game anyway which more than makes up for the singleplayer campaing.
