I have got this game, and I love it.After reading the reviews and seeing that they liked it so much,I decided to give it a try.I loved it the minute I heard the opening theme song(which is,by the way,a cool song). These people must have put alot of work to it to make it be a hit. This is my favorite 18 wheels of steel game.Too bad the people didn't put alot of work into 18 wheels of steel Convoy,It was TERRIBLE!I wonder if they will make another 18 wheels of steel game.If they do,I hope they work on it awhile before they put it on the shelves at the stores. This game is #1!

Hey!! This game is ok on the verge of pretty good. Sometimes the truck won't go, and is very slow. I don't know why. But when it does go it is pretty good. The truck turns pretty fast so sometimes you spin out of control, and the graphics arent the best, choppy and the lights change quickly, so DON'T go through yellow ones!! But you still have time to slip on through if you need too. (say your late or something) I guess the modes of the games are fun, but the title of the game is pedal to the metal.. well it seems that all the cars are going way faster then you, and YOU have to go on the shoulder just so they will pass you when THEY are in the passing lane. The cities aren't crowded, with many cars, like the game stated. The game is a little built up... It is not as good as "Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel" and "18 Wheels of Steel across America", but all in all, it is not a bad game.

This compares Pedal to the Metal against the original version Across America. The original was fine but it got boring after awhile. With this version, its the same game in principle but this time you are told what loads to take and where. The roads texture is must different and looks more like real roads. The Exits are another matter. No more Cloverleafs; they are hard right and left turns which means you have to be really careful about your speed of you are going to rack up damage for sure.To guide you on your way there is an arrow overhead telling you where you should be going. This I think is a bad move. Tell me about a trucker that has an arrow outside his cab telling him where to go. If you can't read a map or road signs then you shouldn't be driving. On this version you get to cross the border to Mexico which is a nice touch. Even the loading dock down south is much cruder sort of reflecting a poorer country. Many people complain about the dog trucks in the beginning on various versions. I don't, for it gives you an opportunity to master the controls and earn a better truck. Actually I prefer the more doggy trucks. The slicked up ones can get away from you really fast and are much harder to control.About the laws. Most are enforced at the drop of a hat except for Red Lights. Many a time I have sailed through a town running every red light in the place with no penalty and I have enjoyed running down all sorts of traffic and road signs. Watching the motorcycle sail is a hoot. Trouble is that the cop car is like a brick wall. It doesn't move when you decide to go postal. Too bad. If you are going to get a ticket you might as well see the cop car get smashed up too.If all you have played is the original version of 18 wheels, then this version will be more fun.
