5Falling in love with Starcraft 2 all over again
By Jack Fox, Badgerlord
First off I would like to say that While i love Starcraft 2, I was never much one for the eSports competitive side, so I cannot comment on super balance of everything and how the new units figure into it all and what not. I am more interested in the Campaign, and playing with friends against AI. So that is what My impressions are on!I have only played the game for 4 hours so far (finished 5 levels), I woke up at 3am just to play it! And I feel like I have fallen in love with Starcraft II aaaaall over again. The Campaign starts right where wings of liberty finished, if you haven't finished that campaign you owe it to yourself to do so! It's still an amazing campaign and well worth the time to play. The campaigns starts out a tiny bit slow for veterans, but for new players it quickly shows you the ropes of how to build up a zerg army and other necessary tutorial based things. After the first 2 missions you get to really get into building an army of zerg and stampeding over your enemies. And I am loving every second of it.Zerg being my favorite race in Starcraft II does help my love for this game, but even still the game is done so well. The Graphics in and out of actual gameplay are great, the story is amazing, and the voice acting is top notch (All things you expect from the SCII Saga). What's new:They added a few things to make the campaign more... interesting. First of all is the leveling. Kerrigan can gain levels by completely story missions and extra side missions, every 10 levels or so she gains a new (and often extremely overpowered ability). For instance at level 10 you get the ability to either have Overlords build instantly and provide 50% extra control, or, whenever a zerg unit dies it revives at your hive after 10 seconds. You can only chose one, but you can switch them around between every mission.Evolving Units is not something new but it is handled differently. Each unit has 3 different choices, for instance zerglings can be Faster, Have more health, or Attack faster. Again you can switch between them between missions freely, each unit also evolves into a more advanced unit. Zerglings can become a leaping Raptor for example. You get an amazing amount of customization choices in this. The Achievements in missions are done the same in this as was in WoL and I enjoy that. There are 3 achievements for normal mode, and 1 for Hard mode, and some of them are quite difficult but rewarding. One of my favorite things to do in WoL was to try and get the achievements, some of them really made you think or change your strategy completely in order to complete them, and added a great deal of replay value for me.Vs AI Mode has been added, and by that I mean you and your friends will be pitted against AI that is balanced to meet your level of skill. And it's awesome. It will chose the varying levels of difficulty automatically based on how you play so you don't have to think "Well maybe I can do hard...I don't know" You can still chose if you want but only in custom game mode. I find the auto choice to be more fun! There are also added tutorials and things for new players, show them the ropes even get into some of the more advanced skills to learn for SCII, and the Challenges are back to teach you the REAL hard things.New Units:At this time I cannot comment much on any of the new units as I mentioned above I don't play Multiplayer so the whole balancing issues and such are lost on me. I can say that the new Zerg units are cool and offer a great deal of versatility, particularly with the Viper's pull skill. But that's sadly all I can really say for now on it. I only watched videos of them in action (and they all look awesome). All in all, I think the game so far has been amazing. I feel that the campaign this time is shorter, but with more re playability than WoL even had, considering the amount of variations in evolution and skills you can go into missions with. I have been reminded how much fun SCII is to play and how well it's made. You aren't just getting a small expansion, like brood war was to SC1, you are getting a whole new game.

5This is what we dreamed about!
By TW Brown, Author, Editor, and Reviewer
I am a child of the 70s, so that puts me just outside the target demographic of these games, I walked away from them about 15 years ago when life just got in the way (my kids wouldn't let me play...and if I did, they slaughtered me...that is probably closer to the truth.) Anyway, about 6 months ago, I started playing again. My last kid moved out and I found a copy of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. Oddly enough, the last computer game I played was Command $ Conquer: Red Alert. While the mechanics were similar, the visuals blew me away. So, if you want a bunch of technical gobbldygook, you should read one of the other reviews that I am sure will be loaded with that sort of thing. Here is what I can tell you after just a few hours. ..This game is visually stunning, has more depth than we even thought possible when we were playing games like Defender and Asteroids at the arcade. If you want to be drawn in and forget everything around you for a while...this game is for you. Simply put...it is fun! I realize that there will be plenty of reviews that tell you all sorts of things...but really, what you want to know is if this game is worth the money? Yes. Is it incredible to look at? Yes. Will a lot of your personal life be sucked away from you in the blink of an eye? Ask my wife...I never did make it to bed last night.

5Worth the wait
By Brian Long
Starcraft 2 continues the overarching storyline, obviously centering on Kerrigan, who flees Prince Valarians remote research lab when its attacked by Emperor Mengsk, and vows to kill Mengsk to end his meddling in her life.Graphically stunning, this pushes even the earlier boundary of starcraft 1. Flawlessly voice by Tricia Helfer, during some of the closeups, Kerrigan even looks photorealistically like Helfer. Some of these cutscenes have to be seen to be believed. Granted, your box does have to have some horsepower, but even a 3 year old computer can run graphics at or near High settings.Gameplay is what you know and love, with well designed missions, especially some of the lone owlf missions. Each one is thoughtfully laid out, and I can't think of but 2 that felt even remotely like grinders. You can beat yourself bloody against all comers if you so choose, but theres always intelligent planning that can simplify things tremendously. The space mission was especially fun, and I wish that there'd been more of thsoe, but hopefully the final chapter will have more of that.Multiplayer has a sprinkling of new options, but is otherwise the same well nailed down system, and it now includings a vs AI option that seems to work well, though you really ahve to pick your difficulty level well. The only real gripe is the Battlenet. While it may just be going through the startup jitters, nothing is annoying as getting a hard difficulty achievement, then losing it because the Battlenet connection hiccuped at the last second.Unit evolution is neat, and you'll love being able to mix and match, rather than be stuck with every purchase made. The specilization of each Zerg type is especially nice, as you gte to see both in action, rather than having to make an irreversible choice blindly. The incorporation of some of the aspects of the Zerg Hive are really clever and enjoyable.Overall, worth the wait. While everyone was annoyed at the delay between chapter 1 and 2, the added polish and depth of feel to this shows it wasn't a waste. Gorgeous graphics, great plot twists out of the gate, and enjoyable gameplay make this a rare 5 stars. All told, this was worth the wait. Stunning graphics, great plot twists right out of the gate, and enjoyable in and out-of-mission play make this a rare 5 stars.

5Misunderstood Port
By NorCalBlazed
I actually want to clear up a couple things first before I started the actual review*FromSoftware came out months ago, informing everyone that this game is designed for and has to be played with a game controller. NOT mouse/WASD. If you play the game, it's extremely easy to see why.*FromSoftware are console(!!!!!) developers, with no experience with the pc. The reason why it took so long for the port to happen was because FS openingly said it couldn't be done, that they had no idea how to do it.*FromSoftware said they knew if they did do it, it would be terrible, and they wouldn't make the production money back. It wasn't until YOU, pc gamers, got together and started a petition, expecting about 10,000 signatures. Instead, you gathered 92,000+*To make up for the bad port, FromSoftware threw in hours of extra content. Just for the heck of it.*If you read any professional review from people who have been keeping up with the production, you'll see that the port had come out much better than we were warned about. From people who had no idea how to work with a pc and openenly stated it would have bad graphics and terrible frame rate. It still turned out better.*They ARE letting players mod. And knowing the modder community, this game is about to get even more awesomeAs for the actual review, what is there to say? It's the best rpg ever made. The art design is incredible with interesting monsters, depth to the gameplay, immersive level design, awesome gear, and incredibly challenging. And when I say challenging, I mean harder than any game you have ever played. And the sense of self-accomplishment when you beat these bosses can't even touched by any other game. It's a literal adrenaline rush. Not some whiny, fake marketing bogus. I mean like you're sweating, heart pumping, and entire body tingles. Not an exaggeration. This make Skyrim look like chutes and ladders. Not to mention it's almost open world like, where you will rarely see a loading screen even when going in and out of multiple buildings. This game is poetry. If you have an 360 or PS3 controller, it is a must must must have.Best RPG ever made***********EDIT************DSfix by Durante on the DS Nexus website. Ridiculously easy mod gives you full HD resolution, and Durante continues to fix bugs. I have had zero issues after 50 hours. The game is gorgeous.

5Brilliant Game, just don't let it crush you
By Stephen Mahanes
Two things first:1) if you play this on PC, do not forget to find DSFix, an open-source fan-made patch to improve the game's visuals. This will remove almost all complaints about the game.2) get a controller. I recommend a Wired (USB) Xbox 360 Gamepad, available here on Amazon for ~$20.Now to the game:Dark Souls is amazing. That's simply a fact. You will want to quit after your first play session. Don't. Take a break, maybe a night off, and then come back to it with a level head. The game is designed to have many different solutions to any give problem, but if you keep trying the only one you immediately see, and failing, you'll be very mad very fast. So, don't do that. Pace yourself. Look for alternative paths. Try different approaches (sneaking, sprinting, rolling, jumping, shield up, 2H weapon at the ready...). Whatever you do, don't give up after only a few hours. The real payoff in this game is your own successes. The stress of the boss fights and PvP gives a stronger rush than any other game I've encountered in nearly a decade. It is so satisfying to win a challenging (and generally *fair*) fight.I would highly recommend this game to anyone. While it is unforgiving, at its core, the game is very consistent, so not too difficult. It will teach you to practice. It will show you the sweet rewards from perseverance.Don't give up and go hollow. You have this chance to show the world that your soul is yours, and that you are alive.

5Not for the Lazy or Easily Frustrated
By V. Sun
Dark Souls isn't kidding when it comes to surviving and figuring out the best method to overcoming a situation (i.e. dungeons, bosses, tough enemies, item obtainment, etc.). I pre-ordered this game due to the high recommendation of a close friend of mine, who had played the PS3 version of it and also bought the PC version to experience the new expansion. While I had my doubts about how gritty and difficult parts of this game would be, I definitely did learn a lot in the first hours than I had in any other PC game.Unlike other games that give you a fairly good tutorial to ease you into gameplay, DS doesn't baby you. Much of this game is either learning on your own or watching another player (in co-op). Annnd practice, practice, practice. Per the advice of a great gamer, study/learn your enemies/bosses and survive. Don't get discouraged if each death feels like a setback since each win will feel like several hurdles conquered.Though there are people who claim that this is a terrible port, I find it quite satisfying. I'm very comfortable with playing my PC games (including MMOs) with a keyboard and mouse, but I highly recommend a controller (Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows) since DS is a port version from a console and inputs are better registered with it. For those who are adamant on using a keyboard and mouse set-up, there are online solutions to help improve/fix the default programming of the two.DS isn't a game that is easily rushed, even in first playthrough. Expect to die often and become a better gamer for it. If you're still on the fence because the reviews that point at DS' various issues, these are easily resolved by player created mods that do everything from upscale the graphics to stabilize technical aspects of the game; all without unbalancing game. Steam, the client application through which the digital version is downloaded (I'm not sure about hardcopy versions of the game), tends to run random sales on their many games, so one can pick up a copy of the game at a steal of a price at times.Overall review: Challenging, yet rewarding at the same time. Definitely recommended.

49 pounds of awesome in a 3 pound bag
By Chutzpuh
Just Cause 2 is about the most fun that I have had with a PC game in a while. The graphics are absolutely amazing, view distance, dynamic environments. The look of this game is everything of Far Cry 2, with even more gasps of awesome. You play the part of Rico Rodriguez, a CIA agent who is about the most physics breaking mass of testosterone I have ever seen. You are dropped into a large, open country to drop an evil dictator out of power by working with several different factions. To do this you have mass amounts of vehicles at your disposal, a multitude of guns and explosives and most importantly, a grappling hook and parachute. This last part is the best part of the game. Using the hook, you can climb objects, access flying vehicles from the ground, pull people out of air and even tie object together. Tie someone to a barrel and blast the thing into space to see some real fun.Initially, the game did not impress me. The story and mission parts of the game reminded me of Far Cry 2. Lots of repetition and little development. Then I hit a point where I slammed my car into another car and flew them both off a cliff. Seeing myself falling I decided to use my grappling hook to escape, but only managed to snare another bystander. In the end I opened a parachute and glided to safety all while watching one of the most insane wrecks ever. The game is full of stuff like this. Tie a motorcycle to a car and use it as a wrecking ball. Rope a plane and ride it around just because you can. So many times I found myself asking "Man wouldn't it be cool if I could to this?" Moments later, I did.At this point I found that the point of the plot and game is actually secondary to the extreme sandbox fun in there. At points of my new found enjoyment, my wife actually thought I lost my mind due to the non-stop laughter and childlike joy radiating out of me. The fun factor of this game is higher than anything I can imagine playing lately. Honestly, this game is pure sandbox first, and an actual game third. Also, your destructive acts are rewarded with guns and vehicles. How many games honestly reward your childlike explosive needs? As for the lack of XP support, well we saw this coming. Not many people cried that Halo didn't work on windows 3.1, so we really just need to move on here. DirectX 10 will simply not work on XP, and the look and feel of this game is something so amazing that you just need the best to make it happen. If you are on the fence about getting yet another FPS in a time where they are roaming the earth, get off on this side now. This is not yet another modern day shooter remake, nor are you wandering yet another WW2 battlefield, this is something truly special.

4Clearing things up.
By Alex Jose
Just Cause 2 Requires you to play through a program called Steam. Steam is nothing but a connection to the PC gaming community. Steam doesn't effect the game play at all, including Graphics and Frames per second. If you aren't sure about purchasing, you can download the Just Cause 2 demo from Steam itself, which is an accurate representation of how the full game will run. If your having trouble downloading, these are the steps I took.1)Download Steam from Steam's Website.2)Purchase the Game from Amazon3)Instead of using Amazon's Down-loader,go to "Your Amazon Account" and then "Your Games and Software Library". View your Games "Activation Key"4)Open Steam's Game Library. At the Bottler left corner you will a Option to "ADD a Game". Click on that.5)Chose To "Activate a product or game" and Insert the Game's Activation key you viewed from Amazon.6)At this point your download will begin on Steam. The download took me about an hour and a half.It is a slight drawback using Steam to run Just Cause 2, but believe me the game is worth it. I would recommend this game to anyone in a heart beat. **I cant Stress this enough. First try out the demo on Steam**

3Almost there. But not quite.
By Fifa12buff
Just Cause 2Pros* Amazing open world gameplay.* The game looks beautiful.* Very fun to play.* Plenty of side missions to complete. And when I say plenty I do mean PLENTY.Cons* While the number side missions is plenty, it is VERY repetitive. You'll find yourself doing the same things over and over again.* Very short and weak story.Score3.5/5

4Fun Game. Surprisingly Challenging on Normal.
By Panda
I got this for $2.49 and that price point will affect my review.Toy soldiers is a tower defense game-except the player has the ability to man the towers. The variety of towers in the game isn't much. There are only 5 tower types, but you get the option to upgrade them 3 times as the game progresses. The player also has the option of commandeering extra units like planes, tanks and a sniper tower that can effect the outcome. There are enough enemy types to keep you busy and strategizing on what towers should be built.Boss fights are a bonus. The scenarios can get repetitive but overall a very good game for $2.49. 8/10.

4Not bad
By Offshoreguy
Bought this on sale for 2.50$ and worth the cost. While this is a STEAM game it also has GFWL in it. However as of last patch the option to play without it has been added, however the game will not launch if your STEAM account is in offline mode, so you still must have internet at all times which is why I rated this game only 4 instead of 5.

unplayable...not for me to say why, but most things do run on my computer...long drawn out sprites flicker constantly ...these are supposed to be the soldiers...why sell something that won't work? ...also taxed for the first time on the internet.

5No Thriller Zombie? Oh well.
By Dustin Triplett
I'm pretty much writing this review just to bump up the overall score because it doesn't deserve getting rated a 1 out of 5 stars just because this version is missing the Thriller Zombie.Other than the missing Thriller Zombie (has be replaced by a Disco Zombie due to legal reasons), this is the pretty much the same game you know and love. Tower Defense with plants and zombies. Whee! You also get a pretty decent Zombie figurine and the ability to create your own zombies. Fun for the whole family.

52 WORDS....Buy it! (So ya think ya can plant?)
By DenverSky5280
Sssssh....my 10 and 12 yo nieces are getting this for Xmas. Since it was named "Game of the Year", I had to test drive it first. OMG....great fun...and funny...and mega-CLEVER!I'm only on Level 5, but what I can unequivocally say thus far is....It will make a terrific Xmas gift! Check out this ray of sunshine. Here's how it works: You plant sunflowers and capture the "sunshine" they make. That lets you plant more flowers...triple-action peashooters, Venus flytraps that devour the Zombies and dozens more. But here's the kicker...you have a basketful of seeds, but you can't plant all the varieties....you have to choose which you're going to use prior to each game.Which means....you have to THINK and STRATEGIZE....what's with that? And if your hand-eye-brain coordination needs work, you'll get better in a hurry. You plant and plant and replant your garden. Yes, they give you a virtual shovel so you can get some real, virtual exercise (is that an oxymoron).Dig out a plant, and plant a better one in its place. But move fasssst, cause there are pole-vaulting zombies, zombies in cars, Zombies floating in on balloons. Speaking of that....Gotta go. Have an important strategy meeting on the roof of my house. You did know that Zombies can climb down the chimney and EAT your BRAINS, didn't you? (insert spookie Zombie music here)If you don't know what to get your kids this Holiday Season, and if they're somewhere between 7 and 97...this would be an outstanding choice. Happy Planting!

This game is so addicting. You can play it so many times and still find/do new things. I love the figurine that comes with this, he is as cute as a zombie can be! The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the game is not compatible with updated 3D accelerator drivers. If you don't disable them, the game will freeze and you cannot play. If you do disable them, the game looks terrible. I really hope they get this fixed.

Product Description

Worms Revolution is the latest game in the classic turn-based strategy series to come to the PC, featuring exciting new features and beautiful 3D graphics whilst retaining the classic 2D gameplay that fans love. Choose to play the extensive single player mode which features both campaign and puzzle missions or dive straight into multiplayer warfare via online or local play. For the first time ever see the inclusion of dynamic water, physics objects and worm classes! Customise your experience by choosing what classes you play with, what they look like and even how they speak!

Worms Revolution sticks an exploding sheep under worm-on-worm conflict and blasts it squarely into the 21st century.

Class Acts! Choose from 4 different classes: Soldier, Scout, Scientist and Heavy. Players can unlock a total of 16 worms (4 of each class) to form their teams. It’s possible to take any combination of classes into a match.

Customize Your Worms! Customize your worms using a variety of hats, glasses, moustaches, gravestones, victory dances, soundbanks, and for the first time ever, trinkets!

Extensive Single Player Mode. Battle your way through 32 single player campaign missions. Fancy exercising your brain as well as your brawn? There are 20 puzzle missions waiting for you!

Stunning New Landscapes. Fight to the death across 4 unique environments: Beach, Sewer, Farmyard and Spooky.

Multiplayer Battles! Experience local or online battles with up to 4 players. Choose from 3 different game modes: Deathmatch, Forts or Classic mode.

Dynamic Water. Dynamic water features in an array of new weapons and utilities and it can also appear already on the landscape in matches.

Exploding Physics Objects! Physics objects are destructible items that possess devastating effects as some have different properties when they explode. Watch out as they release fire, poison and water!

New Weapons. Wash those worms away using the new water weapons: Water Bomb, Water Pistol and Water Strike. Dynamic water can be drained away with the addition of the new Plug Hole utility. There’s also Stick Up, which is used to steal from your opponent’s inventory and the Wrench, which can repair damaged Sentry Guns and physics objects.

Hilarious Script and Voice Over Talent.  Worms Revolution brings together two comedy legends, who between them bring alive the humorous world of Worms. Multi-BAFTA award winning writer Dean Wilkinson provides the script, which is hilariously brought to life by the accomplished Matt Berry as the unseen narrator of the game, Don Keystone, a wildlife documentary maker.

Level Editor. The level editor allows you to create your own multiplayer maps. A number of different paint-package like tools (such as freehand, line tool and fill tool) let you fashion any shape you can imagine. You can create maps in any of the game’s environments, and populate them with the game’s objects, including setting positions for worms, physics objects and dynamic water. A choice of two different cameras (one orthogonal, one 3D) allow you to first work up your basic outline and then fashion the details. Maps can be saved to disk and loaded through the game’s random landscape generator.

    2Worms ATI Fail
    By Ozzallos
First, a warning and the primary reason for posting this review. If you are running an ATI graphics card, expect bugs. In fact, there is a very good chance you'll find anti-aliasing completely disabled with numerous in-game graphical artifacts present. Until Team 17 can get its act together, I highly recommend skipping this Worms iteration. Right now the only offical word is "we're working on it" and "update your drivers..."...As if anti-aliasing was suddenly some new technology not in use for well over a decade now.I'd say this is an otherwise fun game to play, but it's like buying a new car and finding the paint flakes away to reveal a coat of rust moments after driving it off the lot in its current state. If you're Nvidia, I guess you're good :\This review will be updated when and if patching occurs.

    5Great outing!
    By Wes
Downloaded on Steam (after trying XBLA demo) and have loved the updates they made to the series! I've been a fan since the 90's and hope they continue making more. If you honestly like the others at all, you should enjoy this. Metacritic has it in the mid-70's which sounds about right.I also have not experienced the same bugs as others have mentioned. That's typical, given all the hardware/driver differences, etc. Team17 has solid support and should get everything is working order soon for thoseTwo wormy nubs up!

    5Cheap and good entertainment!
    By The Engineer
A few more single-player missions for a great game. I got about 3 more hours of play from this and it was more of the same great game. Sound track as mp3 was also included as a great unexpected bonus. Cheap entertainment! Recommended. This pack adds all the bonus missions from various retail versions of the original game.

    4Not what I expected
    By DeepSleeper
HEAVY on graphics, had to revert to Windows XP to have a passable experience with a medium end Nvidia card, with overclocking. An ok game, but I liked Far Cry 2 better.

    2Didn't add very much
    By easybuttonfrombrittany
I know its only $10 but for what it gives you I just wasn't that thrilled. I really loved the game and was excited to play more content but was ultimately disappointed.
